Meet Peter Germuška

Hello, I’m Peter. I’m a Slovakian born and raised in Prešov and currently living in Košice, Eastern Slovakia. I am a professional licensed guide since 2003 and a tour manager since 2005. I entered the world of tourism already during university and started leading coach tours around Europe for an American touroperator. After completion of tourism management studies in Slovakia and the United Kingdom, I spent 3 years working in England.
In 2010, I have returned back to Košice to work on the largest cultural project in Slovakia – European Capital of Culture 2013. During that period I have established city tourism board VisitKošice and continued working on many destination development projects that helped put Košice and the region on the tourism map. Later on, I helped developing Košice regional tourism board and worked for Booking.com and in the hotel business. Altogether, I spent 7 years in destination management and cultural tourism development. Having 8 years’ experience as a tour manager/director and tour guide around Europe and in Slovakia, I decided to focus on developing a business which provided high end quality guiding services to exquisite travellers. And in 2019 MySlovakiaTour was born. Initially, I simply wanted to provide the highest level of service and experience to travellers coming to explore this beautiful, but still fairly unknown part of Europe. And as every customer was astonished by the beauty of the sites and overall visit, this has led me to continue developing experiences for my travellers to leave them with unforgettable memories. When I was 16, I have researched and compiled my first “Germuška Family Tree”. This experience and findings were so exciting, I started to explore more and even reached to my then unknown long-distance relatives in the USA and in England. The genealogy has become my passion. Nowadays, I provide also multi-day ancestry tours. I love to share the stories from the past as well as modern day ones, so that my clients always get the best picture of the places they visit and they leave Slovakia with unique and memorable experiences.
